Bul Koki

Another favorite from home. Our mom learned this is Japan, I think. Maybe Hawaii. Regardless it's really yummy.

3-4 cloves garlic, minced
1-2 t. sesame oil
2 T. sugar
1/2 c. soy sauce
2 T. water
Green onions
Sesame seeds
2-3 lbs. beef, sliced thin

Marinate overnight. Cook on grill or in oven/dehydrator for jerky.

Just to add a few more specifics to this very specific menu...

I got a "London Broil" cut of meat, which worked well. 2-3 lbs is a LOT of meat. You can reduce this if cooking for less than 4. No need to reduce the marinade. Roast 20-25 minutes per pound at 325.

The marinade carmelizes as it bakes, which makes this dish quite delicious! It would be yummy with Lime-Cilantro Rice.

Your mom may have learned to make it in Japan or Hawaii, but it is a Korean dish. I ate it all the time on my mission there. VERY tasty!
